Sky Watch Friday - Millenium Tower from the farther side

IMG_2534

22 Sept 08

Millennium Tower is located near the Danube, it is the tallest building and 4th tallest structure in Austria at 171 metres (561 feet) after the Donauturm. An antenna mounted on top of the tower brings the architectural height to 202 metres (663 feet) but does not count to its overall height. It was designed by the architects Gustav Peichl, Boris Podrecca and Rudolf Weber. The tower has 51 floors, serves both commercial and residential purposes, and is the focal point of a complex known as "Millennium City". It was completed in 1999 for the coming of the third millennium.

Below shows how taller the Millenium Tower is than the Donauturm, this two tower is one station apart taking the u6 trainline. I was on the tramline 31 which runs on the other bridge, I was glad to have captured it that way, and with sky that seems to be so angry too!

Since I forgot to ask the abouts of this photo, I'd assume this was driying somewhere in Idaho! =) Hope she corrects me if I'm wrong...

Sky Watch Friday - Weather Change

skywatchdriveby

The weather change was sudden, it has been giving me fever and colds as well...I rarely get the chance to get on the train, so this is one of those ops at the U6 trainline (lights reflected on glass window too)...Old buildings have a certain charm if I may add. Happy Skywatching!

I can't resist taking a photo of the Danube everytime the train passes by. This one is on the side going home taking the U6 trainline.
